Paul G. Sauberer is a dedicated educational professional and aspiring professor currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Social Science Education at the University of South Florida. With over a decade of experience as a social studies teacher, coach, and learning team facilitator, Paul is committed to fostering inclusive and engaging learning environments for students and educators alike.

Paul's teaching career has spanned across various grade levels and institutions, including Okeeheelee Middle School, Galaxy E3 Elementary School, and Park Vista Community High School. Throughout his tenure, he has taught a range of social studies courses, including Modern United States History, United States Government, Holocaust Studies, Early United States History, Civics, and Ancient World History. As a devoted educator, Paul has demonstrated a strong dedication to fostering critical thinking, civic engagement, and global citizenship among his students.

In addition to his classroom teaching experience, Paul has taken on various leadership roles within the education community. He has served as a Social Studies Coach, providing support and guidance to fellow educators in developing effective teaching practices and promoting social studies education. Furthermore, Paul has been an active member of textbook adoption committees and contributed to the development of scope and sequence frameworks for middle school social studies.

As an active scholar, Paul's research focuses on the intersections of social studies education, preservice teacher preparation, and social justice. His work aims to address gaps in teacher education programs and promote inclusivity in social studies curricula. Paul's research has led to publications and presentations at esteemed conferences, contributing valuable insights to the field.

Paul holds certifications in social sciences for grades 6-12 and has received numerous accolades for his contributions to education. His commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as he actively participates in professional organizations, community engagement, and ongoing professional development.

Recognized for his teaching excellence, a recipient of prestigious scholarships and awards, including the School District of Palm Beach County's Teacher of the Year, White House Historical Association's History Teacher Institute, and various other awards and recognition. Paul's dedication to education and passion for social studies continue to make a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike.

Research Interests

My area of research adopts a social justice orientation, aiming to amplify voices often marginalized or silenced. 

My research includes four areas of interest: (1) Beyond Inclusion, which is centered around Culturally Relevant Education; (2) Learning from the Shadows, which deals with Teaching Hard History; (3) Fostering the Future, which is directly related to Teacher Education; and (4) Building Bridges, which aligns with Social Studies Instructional Methods.
